Today I registered the details of an enthusiastic and experienced ecologist, looking for a new role in order to progress his career.  Keen to get into a consultancy that can offer structured career progression, training and the opportunity to work with other ecologists and environmental specialists, my candidate has already gained good experience, both in the field, report writing, and in terms of legislative knowledge and client liaison. With significant survey experience, he’s keen to get at least one ecological licence ASAP. Key experience/qualifications includes:

  • Graduate IEEM
  • PGDip Waste with Environmental Management
  • BSc Biology with Zoology
  • Conducting Preliminary Ecological Appraisals
  • Knowledge of legislation, policy and best practice surrounding renewable development
  • Liaising with statutory consultees, council planners, sub consultants and clients
  • Writing ecological chapters for planning applications
  • Designing surveys to achieve required outcomes within budget
  • Knowledge of survey methods for bats, GCNs, Otters, birds and Badgers
  • Utilising ArcGIS to produce maps and visual aids

My candidate is available for interviews, and looking for a salary of £23,000 in Glasgow/around the Central Belt. With a real commitment to the ecological sector and a good commercial outlook, he’d be a good fit for an environmental consultancy looking to recruit for the new season.
